US of A – 2017

Soph & I are off for another overseas trip – this time to the United States of America!

Our trip is primarily for 2 reasons: it’s part of our belated honeymoon & we’re really looking forward to seeing Biddy & John tie the knot in NYC.

We’re O/S for just under 3 weeks. The general itinerary is:

  • Fly into LAX
  • Grab a car & drive to Palm Springs for 3 nights of R&R
  • Drive about 6.5hrs up to The Grand Canyon, see the sun set over the southern part & stay the night; with a short hike in the morning
  • Drive onto Las Vegas for a couple of nights – about 4hrs of driving
  • Then onto Yosemite for a night in a permanent tent right in the Valley – about 6hrs of driving
  • Then motor on into San Francisco for 3 nights where we’ve got an AirBNB booked
  • Fly from SanFran over to NYC where we’re sharing another AirBNB – this time with Kim & Alana; where we’ll be for 7 nights before making the long, long trip home

I’ll try and post something most days if I can, albeit I’m already late!

It’s done!

After much time, effort and organising, the finished product can be seen below. Very pleased with the outcome.

Painting done, benchtops in!

Been a very productive week… The painting and other associated stuff (skirtings, gap filling, cracks and so-on) was finished on Friday and benchtops went in today!

Really pleased with both!

First coat of paint is on

When too much white is barely enough! Natural white for the walls and natural white for the skirtings but with a satin finish. Hopefully compliments the cabinets which are, you guessed it, natural white in 2-pak.

Here’s a pic of the walls with the first coat on.
