Another quick update

This whole traveling thing is pretty full-on! Haven’t had much of a chance to write a proper blog post – sorry everyone!

We left The Netherlands yesterday after 2 nights in Rotterdam and 2 in Amsterdam. Last night was here in Dusseldorf as we head to Berlin by plane later today. Got a few nights planned there so will make the effort to post photos / blog so we don’t forget what we’ve done.

To Paris With Love

Just a quick update to say Paris was spectacular; caught up with some friends we hadn’t expected to and really enjoyed every minute of it.

Monaco – think the exact opposite of Romania

We weren’t sure about Monaco – even though it’s a measly 3.80€ train trip from Nice, we knew that was going to be the last of the inexpensive options for the overnight stay we had planned on having.

“It’s only money” we told ourselves along with, “we can always earn more” followed by “how often are we going to be in perhaps the wealthiest place in the world?”. So with that, the credit card was truly awakened!

It’s nice to be in Nice

After yet another few hours of scenic train travel and a very entertaining conversation with a Swedish family, we caught our first glimpse of the South of France.

First was Monte-Carlo, an independent state 6 times the size of the Vatican – a tax haven for the filthy rich. Even their train station echoes that this isn’t any ordinary place.

Italian / French Coastline

Sadly we left Rome, probably a day early looking back as there was still a lot to see and do. But, the same can be said for the rest of our trip, so on we go.

We decided to venture up the west coast of Italy via train as it meanders around the cliffs overlooking the ocean beautifully. A very pretty train ride.

Our destination was Genova – right at the top of the peninsula before heading back down towards the French border.
